A sinus lift is a surgical technique that increases the amount of bone in the upper jaw. The molars and premolars, or back teeth, are supported by this bone. This treatment is also known as a sinus augmentation procedure in some practices.
If your dentist is unable to install dental implants in your upper jaw due to a lack of bone height or because your sinuses are too close to the jaw, a sinus lift may be recommended. To figure out what they’ll have to do during the surgery, your dentist or surgeon will need to take an X-ray of your mouth.
