Low-speed dental handpiece
The dental bur and prophy cup are spun at 50,000 RPM by a Low (Slow) Speed Handpiece. It is usually powered by air or electricity. Endodontic therapies including root canal treatments use them to eliminate cavities and optimize cavity preparations. The low-speed handpiece’s dental bur attachment, air/water nozzles, construction material, and angle design vary by manufacturer. It can also be used for polishing the teeth.
