Periodontal Curette
Periodontal curettes are used in non-surgical periodontal therapy to treat periodontal illnesses including periodontitis in the early stages.
These dental hand devices have two ends and are made of medical-grade stainless steel. They’re made to get rid of bacterial plaque and calculus on supragingival and subgingival tooth surfaces. The use of curettes for meticulous scaling and root planing has been clinically demonstrated to promote periodontal health.
Periodontal curettes are divided into two types: universal curettes and Gracey curettes. A universal curette is made to fit every tooth surface in any part of the mouth. Gracey curettes, also known as area-specific curettes, adapt to a specific tooth area.
